Artist Initials Search

Sometimes you look at a medal and it is signed with two or three initials or a monogram and you have no idea who the artist is. To help numismatists, Dick Johnson wrote a book titled "Monograms of American Coin and Medal Artists." That book even shows renditions of the signatures and is an invaluable resource for anyone who is serious about collecting American art medals. This page provides a similar function for the much smaller subset of artists and medals that are tracked by this website.

Simply enter the initials without any spaces or separators and specify whether they are in sequence. When an artist signs with a monogram of overlapping letters it is sometimes hard to be sure about the sequence. In such a case, simply uncheck the box.
